Kent J. Hannula, 51, passed away on September 26th, 2025, at home, after a year-long battle with cancer. He was born March 20th, 1974 to Joanne (Fistler) and George Hannula.
Kent graduated from Lakeland Union High School in 1993. He was a life-long resident of Lake Tomahawk.
Kent began working as a cook in the late 1990’s. If you called him a chef, he would say, “I am a cook, not a chef”. All would agree he was a darn good one! Outside of work, he still enjoyed cooking; often experimenting with meats & cheeses in his Traeger smoker.
Kent enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, watching the Packers, golfing, gardening, and doing puzzles. Most recently, he took to building extravagant Lego sets and ripping around his Traxxas RCs. If you have ever driven past his house, there is a good chance you heard Slayer blasting on the speakers.
Kent is survived by his siblings; Keith (Jill) Hannula, Curt (Thom Rohloff) Hannula, and Wendy (Bernie) Thompson; and nieces and nephews; Cody (Katy) Hannula, Samantha Hannula, Lauren “Shortcake” Thompson, and Bernie “Junior” Thompson. Kent was preceded in death by his parents Joanne and George.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Oncology and Hospice for their care and support.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life in early November.
