Boulder Junction

Matthew “Matt” Rosinski, 50, of Boulder Junction, WI died on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Matt was born on September 4, 1973 in Milwaukee, WI, son of David Rosinski and Catherine (Johnson) Potter. He thrived throughout his childhood years, surrounded by family, living on the south side of the city and attending Hamilton High School. He played baseball dutifully from a young age, as the sport was a big part of his father’s side of the family. He also enjoyed skateboarding and playing the drums. His career in the food industry started in his teens, working at Sendik’s Market as an Accounts Manager where he learned a lot from owner Salvatore Balisteri. From there, he was recruited to the Milwaukee Club where he was trained in the culinary arts and served as Executive Chef for 12 years. He took his skills in the culinary field to Fort Lauderdale, FL for several years before settling up north to be closer to his mother, Cathy (also a ‘foodie’), and sister, Michelle.  Up north, Matt worked as a manager at Walmart in Minocqua before being called back to food in 2016 when he established the Aqualand Alehouse menu as their Executive Chef through 2019. Though he wouldn’t give up his gumbo recipe when leaving Aqualand to work as Wholesale Distribution Manager at Northwoods Foods through 2023 and then at Lakewood Market as Assistant Manager. Matt is survived by his two half-sisters Kerry and Kim Rosinski, and Carrie Rasmussen, his long-time girlfriend, and her son Grayden, and his beloved lab Luci where they resided together on Oswego Lake in Boulder Junction. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Michelle Rosinski.

Online condolences may be shared at www.nimsgernfuneral.com and gifts in his memory made to the Boulder Junction Fire Department, PO Box 395, Boulder Junction, WI 54512.
