Mike Spielbauer, age 75, of Phillips, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Mike was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, on March 29, 1951, to the late Gayhart and Leona Spielbauer.
In 1968, Mike enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War. Following his honorable service, he returned home in 1972 and began a long career with Alcan, formerly American Can in Neenah, where he would eventually retire.
Retirement gave Mike the opportunity to spend his time doing what he enjoyed most—working on projects and helping others. He was a man of many talents and could fix or build just about anything. He especially enjoyed woodworking, plumbing, electrical work, and automotive projects. There was always something to tinker with, repair, or improve.
Mike also loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by friends and family around a campfire, listening to music, sharing stories, and enjoying the company of those he loved.
Mike will be deeply missed by his children Alice (Mark) Kilsdonk, John (Melissa) Clegg and Carrie Spielbauer; and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Joshua, and Jedidiah Kilsdonk, and Everett and Wyatt Clegg. He is preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Spielbauer.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of Marshfield Clinic and Moments Hospice for their care, compassion, and support they provided to Mike and his family.
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, the family will hold a private ceremony at a future date.
