Mona Marie Whitaker

Mona Marie Whitaker, 75, of Tomahawk, WI passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with loved ones by her side. Mona was born August 30, 1950, the daughter of Edward and Genevieve (Coskie) Pelon of Baraga, MI. She was united in marriage on May 5, 1973 to Allan Whitaker in Tomahawk.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Allan; daughter, Nora (Joshua) Boomer, Stevens Point; son, Michael Whitaker, Stevens Point; grandchildren, Julia Marie Whitaker, Ava Frances Whitaker, and Alyssa Mae Whitaker. Her sisters, Rita (David) Hahn, Merrill, WI; Linda Ellenich, Barga MI; brother, Jerry (Jody) Pelon, Barga MI.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Gary Whitaker; her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and many other cherished family members.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home, Tomahawk, with Pastor Charles Scheele officiating. Burial to follow at Prairie Rapids Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to time of service at 11:00.
