Monica "Micky" Baars, age 71, Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Micky was born December 13, 1942 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Casimir and Eleanor (Eufinger) Fedder. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and worked as a waitress in Milwaukee for many years while raising her family. She moved to Tomahawk in 1978, where she owned and operated Mr. Ed's Corral with her former husband, Ed Denison. She later married Chuck Baars on July 18, 1987 in Tomahawk. Micky then worked at numerous restaurants, including: The Midget, Villa Venice, Snack Shack, and The Junction. She and Chuck owned and operated the Downtowner from 1987 - 1998. Most recently, she worked at the Tomahawk Family Restaurant from 2000 until the time of her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed bowling, Milwaukee Brewers games, listening to country music, and talking on the phone with family and friends. She saved labels and was an avid refunder, but most of all, Micky was proud of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: children, Anthony "Tony" Denison, Tomahawk, Tracy (Eugene) Steinbach, Tomahawk, Jodie (Arnold) Whiteley, Rock Hill, South Carolina; brother, Gary (Luann) Fedder, Greendale; step children, Cory Baars, Tomahawk, Veralin (Steve) Higgins, Tomahawk, Lila (Timothy) O'Leary, IV, Michigan. Micky is further survived by special niece - Kimberly, five grandchildren - Chad, Jennifer, Kyle, Casey, and Paige, seven step grandchildren - Nicole, Stacy, Tasha, Jake, Timothy, Megan, and Shanna, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband - Ed, husband - Chuck, two step sons - Dan and Robert Baars, and grandchild - Jamie Marie Denison.
Funeral Services for Monica "Micky" Baars will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
