Norviel Anton Weyers, of Catawba, WI, was called home to his Lord on October 24, 2023, at Aspirus Care and Rehab in Medford, at the age of 94. He was born to Anton and Mae (Freeman) Weyers on June 7, 1929. He was their only child.
Norviel lived all his years in Catawba, until his admission to the Aspirus Care and Rehab Facility in Medford, WI. He lived a quiet, solitary life with a strong faith in the Lord. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. There was no one who could say the Rosary faster than him. He spent the first half of life farming with his parents. Upon the passing of his father, Norviel sold the farm and built his home in the Village of Catawba. He became the janitor at the Catawba Elementary School and the caretaker of the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for many years. He took great pride in both of these positions. Norviel had a great affection for his John Deere lawnmower, which became his mode of transportation in his later years. He was often seen pulling his cart and heading to the store for groceries or the gas station for his case of Hamm's.
He is survived by cousins and friends.
Norviel is preceded in death by his parents.
A thank you is extended to Aspirus Care and Rehab for the kind care given to Norviel the last few years and to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. for supporting him the last months of his life.
