Robert “Bob” L. Shucha, age 81, died quietly at home after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.  He was born in Rockford, IL to parents Lawrence and Helen Shucha. Bob attended Sayner Graded School and Winnebago High School. He married Elizabeth Taylor in 1965. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked at Chrysler Corp in Belvidere, IL before moving back to Sayner in 1975.

Bob started Bob’s Home Maintenance, doing excavation, construction renovation and restoration of log buildings and Boat Houses. He provided Property Management Services, including any and all jobs with resourcefulness and innovation. After retiring, he continued with a snow plowing business for another 10 years. He served as an EMT with the Plum Lake Ambulance for over 10 years. He enjoyed driving, road trips, camping, Yellowstone N.P., gardening, chickens, and county fairs.

Bob was preceded in death by his brother: James Shucha in 1949; father: Lawrence Shucha; mother: Helen G. Maines; stepfather: William A Maines. He is survived by his wife: Liz; children: Tammy (Bill) Warren, Joshua (Niki) Shucha; grandchildren: Eli and Owen Shucha; Siblings: Michael (Janice) Shucha, Will (Barb) Maines, Jean Maines; Aunt: Alyce Bailey and countless cousins and friends. 

The family would like to give thanks for the provision of the help of friends, neighbors, and the staff of Compassus Hospice Care during our journey.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Plum Lake Ambulance at Po Box 7 Sayner, WI 54560 are appreciated by the family.  A private service will be held.
