Roger V. Read

Roger Velmar Read, 89, of Minocqua, Wisconsin, passed away on October 28, 2026. Roger was born in Downers Grove, Illinois, on September 5, 1937. He enjoyed dancing to live music around Minocqua, and in his younger years he won many trophies in roller skate dancing.

He is survived by his nieces, Gail Batten and Leone Pospisek; his nephew, David Read; his grandson, Jimmy Bodlak; and his dear friends and caregivers, Carrie Petersen, Morgan Petersen, and Richard Kukloc and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores (Suchomel) Read, and his grandson, Brian Bodlak.

A celebration of life will be held in summer 2027. Details will be announced at a later date.
