Roland Evanson

Roland "Curly" Evanson, age 80, 2096 Arrowhead Drive, Tomahawk, passed away November 27, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Curly was born March 19, 1928 in Granton, the son of Edwin and Syneva (Breiseth) Evanson. He married Dawn Juhlke on July 7, 1979 in Neilsville. Curly was employed with Northern Auto Supply Company in Wausau for 46 years, retiring in 1994. Curly and Dawn moved from Wausau to the Tomahawk area in 1979. He was a member of the Friends of the Tomahawk Airport, and enjoyed flying, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Curly was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. Survivors include: Wife Dawn Evanson Tomahawk 2 daughters Jerri-Lee (Mike) Taylor Janel Zoern 1 son Jeffry Evanson all of Antigo 1 brother Orville (Florence) Evanson Wausau 8 grandchildren Tiffani, Cari, Becki, Jessy, Ashley, Tonya, Kelly, and Natosha 7 great grandchildren Darian, Emma, Jedd, Austin, Isaiah, Ethen, and Adison Curly was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son - Kelly John Evanson in 1954, brother - Stanley, sister - Agnes Matheson, and great grandson - Steven Smith in 1998. Funeral Services for Roland "Curly" Evanson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be at Merrill Memorial Park in Merrill.
