Rosalie Elizabeth Allen

Rosalie Elizabeth Allen, 100, resided in Merrill, WI, died Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Lili Gardens Assisted Living, Schofield, WI under Hospice Care. Rosalie was born March 3, 1925 to Frank and Matilda (Knueppel) Vanderhoef. She was united in marriage to Berwyn Allen December 17, 1942 in Irma, WI and he preceded her in death on January 6, 1973. She was a member of Our Saviors Church in Merrill. She retired from Wausau Hospital where she was employed for 22 years.

Rosalie was a very private, independent person, an expert seamstress and quilter. Her favorite thing to do was get in her car and take a road trip.

She is survived by her son, Ronald (Marian) Allen; daughter-in-law, Carol Allen; 5 grandchildren, Sherry Weix, Dan (Heidi) Allen, Kerri (Wade) Ison, Jason (Charlotte) Allen, Kristy (Martin) Beausoliel; 4 great-grandchildren, Nathan Allen, Wesley Ison, Daylyn Allen, Max Westover, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Berwyn; son, Jack; great-grandson Oliver; son-in-law, Peter Weix; 4 brothers and spouses, William, Walter, John, and Willis and a sister, Doris Bessey.

A special Thank You to the staff at Lili Garden and Hospice for the compassionate care, especially Carol Ann.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home, Tomahawk, with Pastor Larry Mathein officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to time of service.
