Ruby Pashek

Ruby Lenora Pashek joined her Lord on Saturday, April 12, 2008. She was born Ruby Lenora Engelbart the third child of Edward Benhard Engelbarts and Esther Catherine Anderburg on February 26, 1921. She shared her birthdate with her twin sister Ruth Eleanor. She was one of 9 children born to Edward and Esther. Ruby spent the majority of her youth in the Anamosa and Amber, Iowa area. Services will be held (DATE) at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oxford Junction, IA at (TIME). Interment will be at Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, IA. Ruby is survived by her daughter Mary Jean (James) Nystedt of Wheaton, IL., son John (Linda) Pashek of Tomahawk, WI, grandsons John Pashek of Seattle, WA, Mitchell (Wendy) Nystedt of Morris, IL and Matthew Nystedt (fiancé Ellen) of Gurnee, IL., granddaughter Rebecca Pashek of Tomahawk, WI., great-grandchildren Haley, Molly and Trevor Nystedt, Morris, IL. She is also survived by sister Jeanne (Merlin) Ahrendsen, Olin, IA and brother Everett Engelbart, Anamosa, IA as well many nieces, nephews, great-nieces/nephews and great-great nieces/nephews and cousins. She was joined in marriage to John J Pashek, December 10, 1945 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The next 42 years she and John lived in the Oxford Junction, Iowa community living in town until 1950 when they moved to the farm northeast of town. In 1987 John and Ruby moved to Tomahawk,WI. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, her parents, Sisters Evelyn Taylor, Lucille Joslin, Ruth Balichek, Doris Engelbart, Nelda Jensen, and Brother Dale Engelbart. Ruby will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a fantastic cook, and a craft person who taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to take a little nothing and make a fantastic something. Her nurturing nature kept family and friends tied together. The special memories she left us will be held dear forever. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oxford Junction, IA. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, IA. Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation in Tomahawk. Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction, Iowa is assisting the family.
