Teresa Rose Gutenberger, 61, of Tomahawk, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her favorite place, the lake home, on May 28th, 2024. Teresa was born on July 23rd, 1962, to Herbert and Marlys (Cobian) Tauchen in Waupaca, WI.
After Teresa graduated from Bonduel High School in 1980, she went on to study Agricultural Business at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. At UWRF, she met the love of her life, Brian. In April 1986, Teresa and Brian were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano, WI. Teresa and Brian went on to have three wonderful children, Michele, Ryan, and Logan.
After graduating, Teresa spent 39 years with the Farm Credit System (Compeer Financial). She loved that two of her children followed in her footsteps by working with her at Compeer. Teresa loved hosting parties for her family and friends, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to entertain, serve, and take care of those she loved. She touched the lives of everyone she met and was always steady and supportive of those who needed it. She cherished the lake home she and Brian created, with their fondest memories taking place on the lake in Tomahawk. She was an avid reader, enjoyed walking outdoors, and took pleasure in making sure her home was always welcoming.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 38 years, Brian; her parents, Herbert and Marlys Tauchen of Bonduel, WI; her daughter, Michele (Peter) Gernetzke of Evansville, WI; her two sons, Ryan (Gretta) Gutenberger of Fond Du Lac, WI; Logan (Sarah) Gutenberger of Mount Horeb, WI; and three grandchildren she absolutely adored; Robert, Charlie, and Shay. She is also survived by her eight siblings; Debra (Bob) White; Marie (Eric) Blechman; Catherine (Klaus) Uedelhofen; Gary Tauchen, Dennis (Kim) Tauchen; Steve (Jill) Tauchen; Greg Tauchen; and Jeff (Michelle) Tauchen; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Tauchen.
Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply in her wide network of community. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time.
