Theodore C. Nick, age 73, 3 W. Rice Ave., Tomahawk, passed away December 14, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Ted was born March 6, 1935 in Tomahawk, the son of Benjamin and Adeline (Kitzinger) Nick. Ted was raised in Tomahawk and was a graduate of Tomahawk High School. He attended Marquette University, and graduated from UW-Stout with an Engineering/Industrial Technology degree. He married Patricia Ifland on August 16, 1958 in Tomahawk; she passed away June 26, 1997.Ted was the owner and president of Nick & Sons Casket Company from 1958 - 1976. He then went to work for Owens-Illinois from 1977 until his retirement in 1997. Ted enjoyed woodworking, was an avid motorcyclist, and was a member of the Honda Gold Wing Group. He was a member of the Hatchet Lodge Hunting Group, and a member of the Knight of Columbus - 4th Degree. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Survivors include: Best Friend Bonnie Daigle Tomahawk 5 sons Todd (Geri) Nick Wausau Ken (Jackie) Nick Slinger Dave (Tammy) Nick Tomah Nathan (Shannon) Nick Clintonville Matthew (Kristin) Nick Verona 1 brother Tom (Evie) Nick Dade City, Florida 2 sisters Billie (Al) Lamer Sturgeon Bay Cindy (Charles) Jarvis Tomahawk Ted is further survived by 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife - Pat. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ted Nick will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008 from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Krueger & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated.
