Wayne Kaphaem

Wayne Kaphaem, age 71, of Tomahawk passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2023.

Wayne was born in Tomahawk on June 2, 1951 to Frederick “Fritz” & Muriel (Bergeson) Kaphaem. He was married to Lynda Miller on May 5, 1973 in Chippewa Falls. Wayne was a barber for a few years in Wausau before moving to Tomahawk in 1975. He previously had worked for Harley Davidson before working for the Tomahawk Paper Mill.

Wayne is survived by his wife – Lynda of Tomahawk; two daughters – Heather (Matt) Holden of Stevens Point and Crystal Kaphaem of Stevens Point; twin brother – Mike (Rhonda) Kaphaem of Tomahawk; and sister – Sheryl McCalla of Tomahawk. He is further survived by his nieces and nephew – Chris (Jaymee) Kaphaem and their daughter Elena, Lisa (Greg) Stevens & Kerry (Lenny) Scholz and their children Cayton, Cody & Carly. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law – Tim McCalla and nephew – Chad McCalla.

The Memorial Service for Wayne Kaphaem will take place at 10:00AM on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Northwoods Vineyard Church in Tomahawk. Pastor Nate Nelson will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of service at 10:00AM.
