William L. Meyer

After a long battle with Dementia, William Louis Meyer left our world at age 86 on August 22, 2022, and was reunited with his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Louise (Holmes) who passed away January 3, 2022.

Born on May 18, 1936, William grew up in West Allis. He joined the Army working in the Transportation Motor Pool while serving his country in Korea. After returning to the states, he worked as a machinist at Oil Gear in Milwaukee for 30 years before relocating to the Northwoods of WI where he loved to be in the woods hunting and fishing.

William was preceded in death by his son William and is survived by his children Cheryl (Trent) and Randall and by grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeremy (Rochelle), Ryan, Jessica, Joshua (Jocelyn), Christina, Benjamin (McKenzie), Sydney, and Robert and great-grandchildren: Brandon, Sai, Wesley, Isabella, Kaleb, Reese, Malina, Lona, and James.

Memorial Service for both William and Dorothy will be held as they are laid to rest, together once again at Northwoods National Veteran Cemetery in Harshaw, WI.
